The Dogme 95 movement was invented by Danish filmmakers like Lars von Trier and Thomas Vinterberg amongst others. The goal of the collective was to make filmmaking more pure. They refused using special effects and expensive equipment, post-production and technical gimmicks and the music was played on set.
I like the idea of keeping it simple. It gave me an interesting challenge and unexpected possibilities to only use available light sources in the homes and street lights in combination with random cars driving by lighting up a scene outside.
