Stirnsteinlied // Sophie Aigner

Oct 30, 2018 - Sophie Aigner

Saying goodbye, Mariechen’s daughters then gave Anita a stone they had knocked out of the wall of the house, something their mother had, as Anita had observed, encouraged them to do the previous day. When Anita had arrived back in her courtyard, she stuck the stone into the wall, went up to the apartment, pulled out the stamp pad, put her forehead into it, rolled it to the left and to the right a few times, went back into the courtyard and pressed her forehead against the wall.

Stirnsteinlied 2 // Sophie Aigner

Oct 29, 2018 - Sophie Aigner

hinterconti is an established project space in Hamburg that exists since almost 20 years. As there has been many exhibitions and art related events over the years some of the walls are over and over with stickers and graffitis. Invited to show my work „Stirnsteinlied“ („foreheadstonesong“) I was highly impressed by all these stickers and at the same time kind of obsessed with foreheads that I started to see almost everywhere. A selection of pictures document this site specific work from 2018. I put plasticine onto each sticker face that was looking at me. The work has a total amount of about 70 pieces. The pieces out of plasticine have various sizes.

Unknown photographers // Sophie Aigner

I am regularly losing time by googling pictures. Over the last years I assembled a large number of folders on my external hard drive filled up with google image-search files, classified by keywords such as:

bog people / caving / strange things x-ray / excavations / cake archaeological site / foreheads / body molds / bodily fluids / wigs / body painting / skin flaps / funny faces and many more

This post shows a small selection of these footages put into a sequence. Unknown photographers, at least unknown to me, have taken these great pictures.

Here’s another web-footage-stuff. I guess it’s always the same photographer who has taken the pictures. While doing google-research on dolls I’ve got a crush on these photos by ebay-seller Frauenzimmer1409. He/she was offering display dummies by Hindsgaul, a brandname I didn’t know before. I made several gif-sequences by using a selection of these great pictures.

Rumpf und Plastik // Sophie Aigner

Oct 25, 2018 - Sophie Aigner

My next-to-final post is about what I am working on right now. It’s going to be a series of sculptures relating to these gif-text-sketches from above, working title „Rumpf und Plastik“ („torso and sculpture“).

Love, peace and happiness to all of you. Thank you, Der Greif. This is my last post.

May the romanticism be with you.
