Allison Zaucha

I'm a portrait and documentary photographer focused on creating powerful still images that tell narratives of hardworking individuals. It is my goal to empower viewers to think about the universal conditions that affect humanity and to promote positive change in their communities. I take on issues of resiliency, strength and hope, using trust with my subjects as well as an intimate approach to storytelling. It's my goal to honor my subjects as much as possible and that viewer's feel as close as possible to the people in the stories. Currently, I'm working on a global education project with nonprofit organizations to create advocacy for better education worldwide through a photo/video essay about the success of the driven students. In addition, I'm working on two stories in Baltimore-one on foster youth in the city and one about a family who has endured riots for 60+ years spanning the 68’ riots to today.
