Christian K. Lee

I grew up in a household where I saw my father go to work everyday as a police officer, but we lived in one of the poorest communities in Chicago. It is through those experiences that I molded my approach to photography. I saw my father communicate with drug dealers and gangbangers out of necessity to live safely in our community and in that same day speak with lawyers and doctors in the capacity of his job. It is through my father I developed a love for all humanity. I am always trying to shine a light on people even if they are typically ignored by mainstream media. I have had the privilege to travel all over the country in my various experiences documenting life through my lens. My work is not about me its about the people I meet. It is my ultimate goal to bring their humanity to the forefront.
