Christopher Nelson


Obuh Christopher Nelson is a Nigerian Documentary Photographer who is based in Lagos Nigeria. Born in 1988 in Delta state Nigeria His journey with photography started in 2013 when he came across a Vanity fair magazine july 2007 edition which focused solely on Africa. That was the day he discovered the richness of the continent and decided to focus his lens in improving the image of the continent and challenging the western narrative of Africa. citing Andrew Esiebo, Uche Okpa Iroha,Ed Kashi, and Gideon mendel as major influence in his career, Christopher Nelson has developed as few body of works , THE EKO ATLANTIC PROJECT, which examines the development of the Eko Atlantic city and also TRANSITION which questions the issue of migration among west African immigrants and has engaged the Lagos public in serious conversation about the power of photography in the twenty first century. He was Educated at the Lagos photo Summer school in 2014. He was also listed among 16 young photographers to watch out for in 2016 by the Nlele institute African centre for photography. His works focuses on social issues affecting the development of modern society. He works have been exhibited and published in Africa and in Europe.
