Rosa Lacavalla


Rosa Lacavalla is an Italian photographer and visual artist based in Bologna. Graduated in Art Graphics and subsequently obtained a specialist degree in Photography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, she spent part of her studies in England to deepen her knowledge in photography at Coventry University. In 2016 she worked as a trainee for the Cesura collective. She has participated in various group exhibitions in different countries including Lishui Photo Festival, PIP Festival in Pingyao (China), Brighton Festival (England), FotoLimo Festival (France), and others. Her video work entitled Vorrei girare il cielo come le rondini (I would like to turn the sky like the swallows) was selected and presented by C41 Magazine, and by contemporary art collectives in New York, London, and Mexico in 2020. In the same period, she renewed her collaboration with the artist Gillian Wearing within her project YourViews, in which she had already participated in 2016. Her work Sana Sana has been selected for New Talents 2020 by PEP, Camera Work 2021, Verzasca Foto Festival, Fresh Eyes Talents of 2021 and took part in collective shows in Berlin and Ravenna.
