We are Natalie Zervou and Jack Kerruish, both artists living and working in London. After graduating from Norwich School of Art and Design, UK with different individual practices, our work started to amalgamate and a collaboration was initiated in 2012. Our work is collaborative and begins with with the consideration of an object, surface or material. The process of arranging, touching and sculpting is central to our thinking; we are interested in the tension between the materials we use, the resulting final work and how it is installed, leading us to question its materiality. Although processes of photography are always used, its relationship to the history of painting, sculpture and architecture are apparent. We feel it is necessary for us to reconsider the ways in which photographs influence our perception of reality, the functioning of memory and our trust in visual records.
